Every year the UK throws away around 2 million tonnes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). This is one of the fastest growing waste streams in the UK and the EU. The WEEE Regulations came into force in January 2007 to tackle this waste stream. The regulations apply to all companies who import, manufacture or re-brand electrical equipment in the UK (producers). They also affect anyone who uses, sells, treats or disposes of WEEE It Is Illegal... From the 1st of July 2007 to place in your wheelie bin/skip or tip any Waste Electrical and Electronic Equiptment from businesses, shops, offices resturants, garages, commercial and industrial premises etc. The Solution... Allmead Commercial Recycling are fully licenced and authorised by the Environment Agency to recieve these waste items ready for further processing in accordance with the WEEE Directive.
